Aussie trout - Funchy - 06-06-2014
Gday fellow fishers from the other side of the globe
Just thought I would shoot through a vid of what some of the trout fishing is like down this end. No it's not me in the vid (and no it's not Ned Kelly either)
And also, I don't condone how he handles the fish, but if you can put that aside its a well shot vid, some nice fish and beautiful country side he is fishing in.
Hope you are all enjoying the warmer weather. We are just coming into our winter here. Today it is expected to drop to 72F. Time to break out the hoody hahahhaa

[#0000FF]Pretty fish. But hard for us yanks to deal with seeing brook trout caught from streams edged with eucalyptus trees instead of pine trees.
Would be interested in knowing the altitude and the water temperature of that stream.

I fish saltwater as I live right on the ocean but really miss my freshwater Utah fishing. I have to get my fix through the tube ;-)

Really cool video. I'm not offended by his handling. He seemed to care about the fish enough.
The lip gripper is kind of funny to see used on a trout, but it certainly keeps the battle at the hand shorter.
I've seen pics of some pig brookies from Australia. Some lake that starts with J. Long name, can't quite remember.

Hope you're doing well old mate
Was the water body in question Jindabyne? If so that is up in our snowy mountain district in Southern Australia. It is how to our largest mountain (mt Kosiosko-8,500 feet or there abouts) a bump really compared to the beautiful mountains of te Uintas
There is a large lake there (lake Jindabyne) and it hold some great trout. There are many feeder rivers and cricks around those parts. A stunning peice of earth that's for sure.

Been keeping an eye on you boys. Love your reports. That one from Deer Creek, though not heaps of fish, was great. Brought back memories as that was the main body of water I fished while I lived there.

I couldn't watch this whole video Funchy, but what I did see is absolutely beautiful.
My Guitar player went to Aussie for a visit and still talks about it. I would love to see it.
