drumking, Chickamauga, Crappie, 6/06/14, Dr Phillip Gawthrop and Jeff Baker - FishNews - 06-07-2014 Dr Phil wanted me to take him and a friend out this morning for a crappie trip. He wanted Jeff Baker to catch a fish. You have heard the old expression, &#39;you can lead a horse to water, but you can&#39;t make him drink.&#39; That was applicable today. <br /><br />Oh, we found a lot of fish. Getting them to bite was another thing completely. Perfect weather conditions for fishing except a lack of current for a couple of hours. No wind, sunny to begin with, then it clouded up a little bit. There is a skunk smell on the back of my boat now. We did catch 9 fish with 8 being nice keepers. Only one throwback today and it was almost a keeper. I don&#39;t know what it was doing running with the adults. Biggest fish was close to 13&quot;. We only took one pic. Not enough catching to film anymore.<br /><br />Bobby Garland plastics on 1/24 and 1/16 oz jig heads was the ticket. Outlaw Special, Crystal Shad with a tail light, and I&#39;m not sure the colors that Phil caught his fish on. <br /><br />Great morning of fellowship and meeting a new good friend. Seems to me like I have fished with this guy before. emoBig emoGeezer <br /><br />We saw Ricky (Lovetofish) out there in the creek. He was doing about the same as we were. Slow. |
