pelican lake? - trfishin - 09-11-2014
Its been way to long since i fished pelican lake. It was back in june the last time i fished pelican lake. I was wondering if anyone is having any luck out there and how the water levels are right now.
Im hoping to get down there really soon to do some fishing any info would be great thanks and good luck fishing

Well, as of August 16 it was low and the water was completely stained. You could still launch a boat but it was getting down to the bottom of the ramp. Lots of weeds and very few bass. The ones we did catch were in the deepest reeds we could find. They were skinniest bass I've ever caught there.
I guessing if you could find schools in the deeper water you'd do better for both bluegill and bass, but it's pretty tough to locate the holes with schools in them because of the abundant grass and stained water.

hey thanks for the info. The last time i was there we didnt catch any bass of any size either and they were also deep in the reeds and we had to move around to get into the bluegills. The water was pretty stained even then.
Maybe I will have to give Steinaker a try and see what i can catch. Last I had heard it was super low. Wonder if you can still launch a boat there? well I need a bass fix so im going to have to go some where this next week thanks again

Can't vouch for Pelican, but if it's like other lakes in the area it should be up a fair bit due to the recent rains. New inflow always seems to wake up the fish.
Steinaker is still a puddle but it's up at least 7 to 8 feet from it's low point a few weeks ago. Should be able to get a boat on it. Red Fleet may be a good option to keep in mind as well.
