Lake Walcott Bass Fishing - JB_Spilker - 09-17-2014

Went out bass fishing on Lake Walcott, and only managed to catch one chunk smallmouth bass.

Anyone have some pointers for catch a few more of the smallmouth in this lake? Looks like it should be awesome. The water was really dingy when I was there. Maybe that had an effect on them.

Here is a picture of the one fish I caught, and a link to the map of the area I fished: http://www.krakenbass.com/lake-walcott-bass-fishing/

Hope this helps in your decisions on where to go this weekend.

Was there today. Caught one 3 lb smallmouth one 14 in smallie and a 4 lb trout all on rattle traps. My buddy caught the same only his trout was bigger. You should let me know when your in the area. I've caught six Smallies over 5 out of there in the last year. It closes oct 1st to boating and they'll drop the water 10 ft. They plant trout today, ice fishing will be great.

I spent the weekend chasing smallies there last year and had a great time. I had some success using squarebill crankbaits in about 1-5 ft. White and bluegill patterns seem to be the ticket. I can't wait to head there this year.

Hope this helps the next time you go
