Two brothers from New York, Chris and Nick Pucci, decided to do some big game deep sea sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL with the Topshotfishing team. Winds were out of the east at 18 mph, seas running 4-6 ft., blue skies, and temperature in the high 70’s. We stopped to purchase a dozen live Goggle Eyes from T&T Bait; five minutes after this, two kites were flying with two live Goggles Eyes from each kite at the sea buoy in 160 feet of water in Fort Lauderdale. It did not take long before the black shadow of a Sailfish appeared on the right short. The Sailfish grabbed the bait and started jumping immediately, but he threw the hook. We reset and the black shadow appeared on the left short this time belonging to a Sailfish. Nick was our angler and jumped into the fighting chair to do battle. Twenty minutes later he was rewarded with a 91” Sailfish which our mate, Mark, wired and released. From there we reset and on the right long a dorsal fin belonging to a Sailfish came up and stole the live Goggle Eye. At this same time another Sailfish appeared on the left short. Chris was our angler and the Sailfish tail-walked towards the boat. Chris did a fantastic job bringing the Sailfish to the boat – pictures were taken and Mark wired and released the Sailfish. We had some time left so we put up the kite again and wound up catching three Sharks, which were released. After a successful day of fishing, the anglers retired in the a/c salon for the ride back to the dock at Bahia Mar 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
