La pesca a mosca valsesiana - riverdog - 12-24-2014 Fly fishing valsesiana (La pesca a mosca valsesiana) is the traditional and ancient method of fly fishing typical of Sesia Valley, a valley at the foot of Monte Rosa in the Alps North Western Italian. Has anybody used or seen this in action? Modern Tenkara rods sold in the US always came across as a little crude (maybe they save the good rods for Japan?). This seems to be an equally simple but more elegant type of fly fishing without a reel. I found this Italian site http://www.essenzapesca.com/sesia-la-canna-valsesiana/ Maybe I'll add one to the arsenal if shipping isn't too much from Italy. Too late for Christmas but my birthday is only 8 weeks away[ ![]() [signature] Re: [riverdog] La pesca a mosca valsesiana - cpierce - 12-24-2014 I watched one of their videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J98ATEIWW2I It looked just like tenkara to me. What is the difference that you are perceiving? [signature] Re: [cpierce] La pesca a mosca valsesiana - DKStroutfitter - 12-26-2014 How is this different from a Tenkara Rod? What the heck, they catch fish with a telescopic 12 to14 foot pole and no reel. Riverdog, you are probably already aware, but Tenkara USA has a pole that can be fished at different lengths called the SATO & RHOTO. I see this as being big with many fishers that whack brush.
