The Salmon Region Fish and Game staff is sponsoring two open houses to meet the public and discuss wildlife and fisheries issues or concerns. IDFG will be soliciting comments for changes to 2015 big game seasons and 2016 -2018 fishing regulations. Informative displays will be on hand from all regional programs, including a summary of the 2014 Chinook fishing season and the potential for a 2015 Chinook season, a summary of enforcement activities in 2014, as well as fish screening, passage, and habitat improvement projects. Homemade chili, snacks, and refreshments will be provided. “These informal gatherings are a great way to kick off the new year and open lines of communication with local hunters, anglers, trappers, and outdoor users,” said Salmon Regional Supervisor Tom Curet. “These also offer great opportunities to meet and greet our staff and learn about our regional fish and wildlife programs.” The open house meeting locations and dates are as follows: Salmon: Wednesday, January 14, Idaho Fish and Game Office, 99 Hwy 93 North Challis: Thursday, January 15, Challis Community Event Center, 411 Clinic Road Each open house is scheduled for 6-9 pm. For more information on these events, contact the Salmon Region Fish and Game Office at 208-756-2271. Individuals with disabilities may request meeting accommodations by contacting Tom Curet at 208-756-2271, or the Idaho Relay Service at 1-800-377-3529 (TDD). [signature] |
