flaming gorge flow projections? - Lech456 - 01-27-2015 I have been looking online to find some sort of release schedule for Flaming gorge without much luck. I have found a site that tells updates the history everyday but nothing for projected flows other than a vague statement that they plan to increase some time in March. I am planning a trip the last part of February or the first of March but I don't want to get down there on the day they decide to jump the release. Does anyone know of a website that shows projected flows? Lately, the daily fluctuation is from 1200 to 3000! This is for power generation. I fished it a few days two weeks ago, under the same conditions, and it was pretty good! I wouldn't worry about any really high flows that would affect your fishing until May. During the late spring, the ridiculous Endangered Species Act mandates they simulate pre-dam spring flows correlated to the flows on the Yampa river coming out of Colorado to help protect the stupid chubs, squawfish, suckers, and other assorted fish whose environment we've already destroyed with the dams in the first place. So, don't worry about the flows until May. The river is fishing well now, and will do so throughout the spring. And it fishes ok even during the "flood" flows of May, just different. Here's the link for projections: http://www.usbr.gov/uc/water/crsp/cs/fgd.html Here's the one where you can see current, daily, weekly, yearly, and any other flow history you can dream up.
