I went today. 1-3 inches of soft snow on the ice. Took the wheeler. Started at the Strawberry marina, south to Haws, east to the narrows, through the narrows to SC and over to the dam. One pretty wet pressure ridge on the SC side of the narrows - be careful - 8 inches of ice everywhere I drilled. Fishing was slow, mostly slot cuts. Left by 1230. Not many people on the ice today.

I was there today. Solid ice everywhere. I ran my snowmobile across the lake from the marina to Renegade. Machines have been everywhere. I ran into 1 inch of snow at the most. Ice was in excess of 12 inches everywhere we drilled. close to 18 inches at the south end of Renegade, West end of Rainbow bay by the point was in excess of 12 inches. Temperature was 6 at 7:30 a.m. and 30 at 12:30 when we left. I crossed 3 pressure ridges traveling from the marina South to Renegade and one large one down by the point at the west end of Rainbow bay. There has been a lot of freezing of the snow on top making the surface quite rough. Probably due tp the freeze thaw that has been going on everyday and night. I saw no slush. Stick to the main routes as you cross the pressure ridges. Some of the areas were pushed up pretty high. Pressure ridges can be very "fragile" and unpredictable.
