Want to borrow/rent:40 or 50lb Minn Kota - 1idahoguy - 04-01-2015
I picked up an inflatable raft this winter - Intex Mariner 4 - and I've been working on some minor modifications to enable it to double as a fishing platform for me, in addition to serving as a family fun activity in the summer during camping excursions. I've added a floor via 1/2 inch plywood and I have a couple of fishing seats and pedestals arriving this week. It's turned out pretty dang nice if iI do say so myself.
The last item I've yet to buy is a propulsion system.
I would love to find a decent 3-5hp light weight outboard but they are SPENDY! Instead of dropping $500-1000 on an outboard, I'm considering a 40 or 50lb Minn Kota electric motor. But before I spend $200 on the electric motor, I was wondering if there's anyone on here in the Boise area who would allow me to borrow or rent yours? Shoot me a PM if you're so inclined.
I'm also open to input from others here for propulsion advice, who have similar small fishing vessels.
