leaded line question - smittyts - 06-04-2015 Hey everyone. Just seeking some wisdom and knowledge. My wife's father passed away several years ago. He was an avid angler. He left behind some mice trolling reels with leaded line on the. These haven't been used for over 30 years. The reels are in excellent condition. Is the leaded line still good, or does it break down or become brittle or damaged over time? Thanks for helping me out. Unless the line has been laying out in the sun, it is not likely to be bad but put a 10 lb weight or better yet a 20 lb weight on the end of the line and try to lift it.
