Muskrat, Chickamauga, bass, 6-4-15, Debbie - FishNews - 06-09-2015 A little crankbait fishing for bass today. We fished for around 4 hours and caught 7 bass but we must have lost 7 more. I'm always talking about changing to better hooks on my crankbaits and after today I probably should actually do it. We're just fishing for fun but when you're losing nice bass--it's just not that fun ! I was surprised we caught what we did because we had no wind and very little current. We were sitting in 20 feet of water and catching the fish in about 8-10 feet near the bank. We did a little offshore fishing late with no results.

Deb caught a nice bass within 10 minutes of fishing and I lost my best one around 4 pounds when it spit the crankbait right back at me after jumping 3 feet out of the water. It was like it was saying..."go find a lure with some sharp hooks and try again buddy". Bream colored crankbaits have been working great lately. A cell phone pic of one Deb caught on her 6 lb. test P-Line using my favorite BPS medium "crank"...Blue Back Chartreuse. emoThumbsup |
