day hike/fishing suggestions - DVanValkenburg - 06-23-2015 Might have the 3rd off so was looking to take the dog for a hike and do some fishing somewhere. Anyone have any lakes/rivers that can be hiked to and fished in a day? Crystal Lake Trailhead has a number of lakes within 2 -3 miles. A little further of the road another parking area also has a number of nearby lakes also, I don't recall the trail, but Notch lake is one of the lakes on the trail. Closer to the SL valley- American fork Canyon has Silver lake, or the river/stream that runs down the canyon and the cottonwood canyons also have lakes I believe, I am just not that familiar with those canyons. I'm planning on taking my lab so the cottonwood canyons are out. I'm Mainly looking for some or one smaller lake to hike into and do some fishing with my fly rod. The other lake real near those would be more difficult to fish with a fly rod. Island Lake further along the trail would work though. I haven't been to some of the others in the area such ad Duck, Pot, or Junior. |
