DAV Results - HD7000 - 07-11-2015
Got to soldier creek with the boat in the water before 6 and had about an you to kill before the main event so we did a little pregame scouting. Got into a little koke bite early but lost the few hookups and only caught one slot cutt before we went and picked up our vet.
by the time we got back to where we were on kokes, it was too late and only managed a couple nice 20" Cutts. Trolled all over and ended up dropping anchor by the dam and boated a handful of bows around 14".
Not fast fishin, but not a skunk either! Also nice to see a DAV smiling as he reels in some fish!
Next year we should hit the strawberry bay side where the real fish hang out!

Glad you found some willing fish for your vet Tom. Did you get that 50 HP motor on your boat? If so, how did it run?

I went Fri and got 12 Kokes 1 bow and a bunch of cuts on the SC side
put all the kokes back but one that I killed getting the hook out and gave it away friday night.
fished Sat. for 1 hr. before I picked up my two vets.
got one koke about 13" put him back.
Picked up the vets and all we could catch were cuts
they lost 2 kokes
about 9:30 went on the Strawberry side a lot of boats there.
and all we got were cuts about 18 to 21" got about 20
so it was fun for them..

Not yet, I'm waiting on the water jacket gasket to come in the mail, then all I have to do is finish my paint job and it'll be ready! Should have her out for a test run at Willard next week!
If I would have had it today, we would have jetted through the narrows over to strawberry and caught some real fish!

They have it arranged with Land and Leisure to do the DAV only on the SC side because the Berry side gets way too much traffic.

I prefished a little Friday night and the bite was great for an hr or so, 1 big koke and about 8 cuts. this morning was tough we ended with 4 kokes and about 12 cutts. I think boat traffic really shut things down today.
