Spinney Mountain Reservoir? - gofish435 - 08-17-2015

I'm thinking about taking my float tube and trying SMR next month. I'm going to be using fly gear and was wondering if anyone has fished it recently?

Where is a good place to put in (no motor)?

Thanks in advance for any information that someone might want to share. A PM would be welcome also if you don't want to post it.[fishin]

Never heard of it. Where's it located?

The reservoir is located just over 50 miles south and a little east of Breckenridge.

The regulations are: fly & lure only with a limit of one fish over 20", no limit on yellow perch and ice fishing is not allowed. It is classified as a Gold Medal water.

It sounds like an interesting place to drag a fly around for a day.[fishin]

Drag a fly and a jig. Fly for the troutskis and jigs for the perch. Heck the perch would probably hit small buggers, leeches, ants, streamers. They aren't too picky.
