Pike fly pattern for yuba??? - Flyfishinglover - 08-31-2015

I'm planning to hit yuba a couple times this fall so what are some of the best fly patterns that work out there?

Streamers. Anything that pretty much looks like fish will work. I caught them on clousers.

Not hijack a thread but if guys that fish for them could also add what they use for leader on those toothy buggars. Redmond is supposed to have a pile of them in there also from what I am told and I don't want to be loosing a ton of streamers trying to figure out a good setup.

I use the steel Micro leaders. I believe eagle claw makes them. At least those are the ones I use. They are a smaller diameter than the regular ones and a fly rod will cast them easily.

I don't use steel leaders when fly fishing...I use 30lb mono.

I worked at Trout camp at Raindeer lake in Canada and the best leader is titanium! They don't kink and work great!!
