VETERANS DAY 2015 - Tin-Can - 11-11-2015 I know many of the anglers here on the BFT site are also Military Active Duty, and Veterans. Please accept my sincere thanks and appreciation for your service to this nation, both past and present. You are all one of the biggest reasons we can still enjoy freedom to move about this great country and enjoy all the natural beauty of it's lakes, steams, beaches, mountains, and even deserts. Have a great Veterans Day. [inline IMG_5121.JPG] MSgt. USAF (Ret) 1973 - 1993 "Tin-Can" [signature] Re: [Tin-Can] VETERANS DAY 2015 - k2muskie - 11-11-2015 ^^+1...and thank you for your service TC. And please keep this quote in your thoughts going forward from this day.[/#800000][/font] Quote:But this Veterans Day, I believe we should do more than sing the praises of the bravery and patriotism that our veterans have embodied in the past. We should take this opportunity to re-evaluate how we are treating our veterans in the present.[signature] Re: [Tin-Can] VETERANS DAY 2015 - RockyRaab - 11-11-2015 [font "Verdana, Arial, Helvetica"][size 2]Thanks for the kind words. I cannot speak for others, but for me it was not a sacrifice. I was doing the thing I wanted to do since I was five years old. Being military is in my DNA.[/size][/font] [signature] Re: [Tin-Can] VETERANS DAY 2015 - Boatloadakids - 11-11-2015 I happened to catch a documentary on tv last night about the terrible fighting and loss of life at Iwo Jima (I know, poor speller) in the south pacific in 1945. While young American men were giving their lives in the fight for freedom in that terrible battle, I was a four-year-old boy living with my mom and sister (Dad was serving Korea) while enjoying all the comforts of life that come with living free. As a little boy I had no idea of the American lives that were sacrificed so I could continue to enjoy that freedom for the rest of my life. I do now. Thank you all veterans, BLK and family [signature] Re: [RockyRaab] VETERANS DAY 2015 - TubeDude - 11-11-2015 [#0000FF]Been waiting for you to repost your annual Vet's day piece on the old warrior. Even though the US lost all these wars, your service was appreciated. Especially those drafted and dead from agent orange in Vietnam (Uncle Roy), and the 22 dead every day from suicide. roosevelt [signature] |
