[signature] Re: [FishinB80] Palisades?? - ironrod - 12-24-2015 No, buddy of mine fished open water a week ago by the dam. He didn't see any ice. [signature] Re: [FishinB80] Palisades?? - Danohemmy - 12-25-2015 I fished on creek side of big elk, couple days after thanksgiving iced a bunch of cuttys I'm sure the ice is good there thinking of going on sunday [signature] Re: [Danohemmy] Palisades?? - FishinB80 - 12-25-2015 Sounds about right. Palies and Ririe take Forever to freeze but I thought with how much colder it's been this year than the past few it might have froze early. Maybe I will have to try the creek side soon. I love the cuttys. [signature] Re: [FishinB80] Palisades?? - Danohemmy - 12-27-2015 I tried to walk down to the creek side, snow was two deep.. might have to take my sled down there, it was good fishing when I was down there!! [signature] Re: [Danohemmy] Palisades?? - Steelie30 - 01-06-2016 Any new reports on Palies near Big ElK? Are most people fishing creekside or lakeside? Just curious [signature] Re: [Steelie30] Palisades?? - Danohemmy - 01-07-2016 You could fish both sides,I fished lake side [signature] Re: [Danohemmy] Palisades?? - Steelie30 - 01-07-2016 If you don't mind me asking, did you do any good? You don't need to give numbers or anything you used, just wondering if you found a fish or two. [signature] Re: [Danohemmy] Palisades?? - Steelie30 - 01-12-2016 We fished Creekside for a couple hours last Saturday. You could have probably caught all of the 6" Kokanee that you wanted. We didn't give it too long and then hit the south fork with nymphs and found some bigger fish. If you want to fish Palies Creekside bring a ladder or something to bridge the bank to the good ice. The edges are soft and our first step broke through. Any luck for anyone Lakeside? [signature] Re: [Steelie30] Palisades?? - oregonguy - 01-13-2016 Ice everywhere. Been capped a couple weeks now [signature] Re: [oregonguy] Palisades?? - jaklakmak - 01-23-2016 Palies was hot today! Got to where we decided to fish today around 7:30 and the bite was on as soon as we dropped our lines. We had 7 lines out and immediately started getting hits on our dead sticks while setting them up. Started jigging around 8am and caught the rest of our limit by 10am. On another note access was horrible!!!!!! It was a slush fest where we were. They are filling the lake fast. All I will say is we weren't at Big Elk. [signature] Re: [jaklakmak] Palisades?? - oregonguy - 01-23-2016 Care to share what you caught? [signature] Re: [oregonguy] Palisades?? - jaklakmak - 01-24-2016 Nothing with much size. One brown that was a couple pounds. In total we iced 9 natives and 3 browns. Sorry didn't take any photos. [signature] Re: [jaklakmak] Palisades?? - oregonguy - 01-24-2016 Good job and thank you. Hope to get out there soon. Been a long time since I ice fished palies [signature] Re: [jaklakmak] Palisades?? - curt69 - 01-24-2016 How many inches deep was the slush . They do the same thing on Island Park resivior . Constantly filling it all winter . [signature] Re: [curt69] Palisades?? - jaklakmak - 01-24-2016 It varied depending on where you walked but most of what we were experiencing was 6 inches of slush covered by about a foot of snow. [signature] Re: [jaklakmak] Palisades?? - Danohemmy - 01-24-2016 Fished today caught 4 fish one cutty 3 Brown's. Got lucky the snow was froze every now and then you would break thru into the overflow,at least six inches of overflow, I wasn't at big elk! [signature] Re: [Danohemmy] Palisades?? - curt69 - 02-01-2016 Does anyone think this cold weather will make the edges better , making it easier to get on the lake . Thinking about going Wednesday . [signature] Re: [curt69] Palisades?? - fallsfish - 02-02-2016 I was at Ririe yesterday and the cold temperatures has frozen the slush that was formed from the Friday night snow. We had solid ice to walk on. I suppose with two days of single digits in the valley would also freeze the sides of Palies. Best of luck today. [signature] |
