Pineview Ice at the narrows? - fish_fear_me2 - 01-10-2016 Have the narrows got safe ice. I am not sure I can make the hill with gear but curious anyway. I am going somewhere tomorrow with a young guy that has 2 ice trips under his belt. He didnt get a bit on either trip so I was hoping to get him on some fish. The 2 places we talked about were Echo for trout and perch or Pineview for perch and crappie. Any information or tips would be appreciated. In the morning first thing till a couple hours after sunrise or in the evening. Fish in about 40', a spring bobber is a must and electronics is a good thing to have but not necessarily needed. We haven't even caught a perch yet but no need too with the crappie bite. Ice it's a good 7" to 8" with some crusty ice on top. Not sure what is happening over at the narrows. We have light rods with spring bobbers and we have an older fish finder not a flasher but at least it gives us depth and we can see fish moving through. [signature] |
