City of Rocks (near Almo) - 1idahoguy - 02-15-2016 Has anyone on here spent any time in the City of Rocks area, just west of Almo? I'm looking to do some camping in that area this year with my family -- it's one of the few places in the state which I've never been. Would like to correspond with someone who's been there so I know about what to expect. We're going in early to mid July so hopefully it's not too hot. Elevation is 6000+ so that will certainly help. Even if th the daytime temps are high, things should cool off nicely at night. I looked up historical temps at Almo and even in mid July, average high temps are 85-90. I can tolerate that. How's the fishing at Goose Creek that time of year? Is it worth even trying to get over there to try it out on the way back home? [signature] |
