SH in heat - richyd4u - 08-03-2016

No, someone with the initials "SH" is not in "heat", lol...but now that I have your attention, let's talk about Sand Hollow!

Went out the other evening in the cool 105 heat, and fished up until it cooled off to 95 before dark. [Wink] Water temps were in the low 80's, water clarity was great (as always there). Fish were surprisingly cooperative, despite the warm weather. Threw the standby swim bait on a 1/4oz head. Bites were consistent along the dikes. Managed around 15 in two hours, along with this nice little 4.5 pounder (would've been 7 in the early spring, but she was thinned out). My usual spots this time of year are not producing like years past...must be the higher water. Bluegills are going crazy, which is great to see for my bass to munch on! I'll be out there this weekend...

That's a great bass for SH! Thanks for sharing.

Not bad for SH, but there are MUCH larger ones in there. This is definitely NOT the time of year to catch the big girls at their peak...late fall, winter, early spring are when we catch our piggies! Thanks!

I certainly like fishing SH, but I dive there on occasion and you're right, there are some bigger ones in there.
