Compared to other states...with more mining and/or industrial operations...Utah has a relatively small concern for mercury contamination. But it does show up in some streams and lakes...largely thanks to our early mining operations that cared little for the ecology.
Note that there is no mention of Utah Lake. Can't begin to recall how many time I have heard doofii (plural of doofus) go on and on about all the mercury in the fish from Utah Lake. If ignorance is bliss they must be deliriously happy.

That's the reason porkipine has mercury from the old mining practices runoff from laplatta feeds both body's of water.
