Picking up about a half dozen on each trip using bottom bouncers. Even picked up a couple of wipers on the worm harness rigs.

Each trip is a little slower on the catch rate though. With the shad growing the bite may be off for some time.

Does it pick back up as the summer goes on or has it peaked (May and June) and just goes down hill? Or will it stay relatively the same all summer for walleye and wipers?

If there are tons of shad like last year it could be a tough bite for the most of the summer.

My last trip down there two weeks ago was ok fishing but once it got dark the fish finder screen turned almost black with what I think we're the baby shad coming out to eat for the night. I attached a picture of the screen to show what we were seeing. If we moved out away from the shore it would slowly clear up but get just as bad when we went back to the shore.
