Cabelas in AZ, Not Ut
#1
Just curious....a friend stated this morning that he read in the Des News that Cabelas decided on AZ over UT. However, I have searched Cabelas, Des. News, and this forum and cant find any proof.
Anyone heard yet if a decision has been made?

I was informed by an estimator that works for Utah Power in the Ogden service center, he had received the preliminary blueprints for Cabela’s. The location is off of I-15 near Willard Bay. Ya Hooooooooo

This subject of cabelas coming to utah has been floating around for years. Why would they be so secretive?

I like that rumor best of all, it is a lot closer for me. I also heard it was going to be near Brigham city. WH2

Its easy to understand why they are so secretive, there are million of dollars at stake, for on their part and on the part of companies doing business with them and competing with them. This ain't no Ma & Pop business.

If they come to Utah, it's not going to be by Willard Bay.

I heard it was going to be South around Lehi.

Wheeling, WV? Willard, UT? It's possible. The Willard/Brigham City rumor's been around for a while. In some respects it makes sense. Cabela's customers are probably more comfortable away from the rat race of a big city.

Cabella's did have plans for a Brigham City location. I had the opportunity to work with the County Health Department, and the guys in the water/sewer division approved the sewer and water plans, but that was several yeas ago. They told me that Brigham City dicked around with them for so long on tax issues that they scrapped the site plan. Questar gas had even run the gas line to the store. All of this is first hand knowledge.....not from a friend of a friend of a friend. All of the rumors as of late suggest that Lehi will be the preferred location. It is even in the city's master plan. I just wish someone would make some kind of official announcement. Of course my wife doesn't want the store here![Wink] It will be interesting to see what pans out.
