Lake Powell mid April
#1
Hey Gang-

I am planning a trip to Lake Powell in a couple weeks. Any suggestions as to what part of the lake and what to use for them? I'm hoping to find the stripers boiling. What do you think?

[black]You may see some sparatic surface activity but I doubt you'll see any major boils, The stripers will be in pre-spawn. The chances of hanging a hawg are best during the May spawn and the best probability is fishing at night in the shallows.[/black]

[black]In mid-April, I'd concentrate on trolling around the 20-40 depths using deep diving shad lures or whole anchovies. I'd also jig and bait fish when you find schools of stripers. I'd also try the back of coves and also in murkier water where the water warms faster. These are the places you'll find shad. Where you find shad, you'll find stripers.[/black]

Check out www.wayneswords.com If there is anything happening on Lake Powell you will find it there on their bulliten boards and the anglers corner section. They are a very helpful bunch.

Good luck
