Myself and a friend hammered the Berry this morning starting at 7:30 and left around 11:30. It was a fairly average day fish wise - we boated 57 between us, with the largest being a 25"er. Pointers worked well very early, though we switched to 4" white tubes with smelly jelly about 8:30. Most jigged fish were caught in around 18 feet of water. They were schooled up at one spot which was near an older GPS honey hole of ours. We marked the new school and pounded them for a couple hours with probably 35 or so of our total coming within 75 feet of the GPS mark. Water temp was at 44.3 and the water is now very clear. Often when we pulled up a fish it had a friend or two coming along with it seemingly trying to steal the jig from it's mouth. We had two anchored bait fishing boats nearby, we saw neither catch a fish and talked to three trollers on the ramp who had landed a total of four fish. Jigging seems to be the ticket right now. Should be a great weekend up there.

I love how it is your GPS honey hole. Of love how people freak out and won't even tell you the part of Strawberry they fished. All you have to say is the northern part of strawberry. Geez!

Great report. A week ago we also noticed several followers when we reeled up cutts. The trip before that we had several hits while we were reeling up our jigs to check our bait.

Hey bigtroutfisher, I see that you are new to the board. I am too but one thing I have learned in life is to ask politely. Maybe a nice PM to piscispursuit would accomplish more than your last remark.
Take a little pride in your self and go learn part of the lake through trial and error. Then you could have the power and be the first to share your hot spots with the rest of us. OH, we already do that. You just have to ask nicely first.
P.S. There is a lot more information shared between members than there is posted for every guest to view. Think about it.

Back off big guy, just look back at the 30-40 or more Strawberry posts I have on the boards and notice that virtually everyone of the them indicates I fish the south end almost exclusively. It gets repetitive to say it in every post (weekly) as most on the boards know my routine. I definately agree with waterat, even a semi-polite response will get you a lot more than trashing someone, especially if you're a board newbie. In addition, I have PM'ed several dozen people who have asked for some info about the Berry and hopefully helped them with whatever I could. Ask nice enough and I'd hold you by the hand and set the hook for you, as would most on the board.

Excellent report! We went out Saturday and did very well jigging but we couldn't catch them any other way. We tried a few kastmasters and some rapalas (didn't have any pointer's with us) and after not catching any that way, we said "oh well" then started jigging again!
Thanks for the report. Strawberry is awesome right now!

Nope, the wind and snow scared us away. There are too many good days to push it on a bad one. Sounds like you had a fun (?) time though.
