COONEY STATE PARK - A birdwatching walk along the upper reaches of Cooney Reservoir is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday, May 24. Barb Jaquith of the local Audubon Society chapter will lead the morning-long walk.
Participants should bring clothing, including boots, that are appropriate for the day's weather and binoculars. The walk starts at the Red Lodge Campground at the upper end of Cooney Reservoir.
The walk is open to the first 12 people who sign up by calling Cooney State Park at 445-2326.
Cooney State Park is about 40 minutes south of Billings and accessible by county road from either Boyd or Columbus.
