Has anyone targeted large starvation browns lately? 20 yrs ago I used to hit it and drift minnows fishing from shore , and did quite well for browns in the 5 to 10lb range , soon after ice off. I have'nt tried it for 20 + yrs. I figure it's about time. Any suggestions or advice , or should I stick with my 20 year old methods ?

Use the old method. It worked 40 years ago, it worked 20 years ago, and it will work now. Thats the great thing about fishing. Once a method is found that catches a particular species it will continue to do so..

I was up there yesterday. 20 knot winds, 40 MPH gusts,
39 degree water. Ice in a few bays. Too rough for me to fish w/3 to 4' white caps.
