Mrs DK and I got out before the sun rose this morning for a quick crappie trip. We launched the boat around 6:20 and made a 24 minute run upriver to a dock that has been producing pretty good lately. We caught 20 off that dock in 45 minutes, with 5 of them being in the 11-13 inch slot limit that we impose.

Then we moved to vertical structure and caught 26 more in short order. We had 46 of the 47 that we caught by 9:00 AM. Then the bite practically stopped. Went to one other highly productive dock and caught my 8th tarp crappie of the year. I caught 2 tarps today. It was the only fish that we caught there and I caught it on the first cast to that dock. The fish today were mainly on a 12-14 count and we fished both 1/32 and 1/16 oz jigs with bg shads in my summertime color. that was the only lure that we tried.

I caught one black nosed crappie today. Sort of rare in these parts. Wanda and I kept 13 crappie in the 11-13 inch slot today and released both the TARP crappie to grow into 15,16" size. Hope to catch them in a few more months.
I did not show the pic of the 2nd TARP. Wanda didn't get enough of the vitals out of the frame for me to show it. Everyone would be camped out on that spot for the next month if I showed it. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
