OUt for some fishing and a run. Took me awhile to find bait, but then I found plenty of it. Had a mix of threadfins and gizzards.

It wasn't fast and furious, but there was some quality. Pointer hooked one right away, a keeper largemouth. Then I caught a keeper largemouth, about the same size. I then hooked a hard fighting channel cat. Pointer loses one right at her feet, then I get another threadfin out there. I got a nice bite and set hook. The fish stayed buried, and I'm thinking another channel. So I handed the rod to pointer, she hasn't caught a catfish before. It continued to stay buried, then a trophy smallmouth surfaces. Then before I know it, it breaks off as it beelined right for Pointer's leg and wrapped up. Probably an easy 20 incher. We were out of threadfins by this point, so it was onto the gizzard shad. Usually I only get 1-2 bites on those. Within 10 seconds, Pointer had thrown one out, she got a nice steady pull. I could tell it was a nice fish. She was getting pretty excited, then a big largemout surfaced. I attached 2 pics of it, the guide has to take a pic every once in awhile with the big one just for fun. Then we hammered out 3 miles and called it a day.

Great fun from the bank, and I'm glad I now have the bank and boat option.
