I got out today from HBSP to do some mapping and setting some waypoints on off shore structure. I accomplished what I set out for as far as finding the cuts and things. With the wind blowing from the NE about 8 to 10 mph, it made fishing in the river almost impossible. I did find one little secluded spot and caught 5 small crappie and 1 tiny bluegill. I was just getting ready to leave this spot when a 6 lb 6 oz Drum, (one of my pets) wanted to play along for a few minutes. It was quite a blast on 4 lb test line and ultralight rod. But I managed to bring it to net, but the pics leave a lot to be desired. I need one of those clamps that EricM has on his boat to hold my camera while I pose with the fish.

I caught my fish on ghastly minnows by Bobby Garland in the slab slayer model on 1/16 oz heads. The fish were all deep, about 20 feet. I ran to CFP and threw a swimbait for about 30 minutes and just drifted in the wind, but only had one little bite that I missed. The ghost showed up on my boat motor again, so after taking the cowling off and letting it cool for about 5 minutes, I decided to call it a day. Good call, DK. emoBig emoGeezer
