Walleye from a boat at Utah lake are awfully tough. From shore (except during spawn) are much tougher. You just don't have access to deep enough water and the associated rocks Walleye crave, except at inlets or outlets. This time of year deep water plus rocks are the ticket. At Utah lake go with BIG lures to keep everything else off (the whiteys will still hit the big stuff) , black and silver rapalas in the 6-8 inch range. Might loose a lot of tackle, but that is how I would start. Come early spring the spawn is your best chance.

There are some canal and river eyes, but you have to find those spots yourself. Night fishing is always best for summer eyes.

Try fishing in and around the marinas, use 3 and 4 in. twister tail grubs on 1\8 and 1\16 oz. lead heads. try chartruses (green) colors.

Slow retrieve? Fast? Do you like to let it sink quite a bit and move it along the bottom slowly, or maybe try at different depths?

For some of you Walleye are an every year occurrence. They are still on my bucket list. Smile

Fish the rocky areas described, as described. Tip your jigs with half a crawler or fish the jig head with the crawler threaded on like a grub. You can also fish these area's with a slip bobber and crawler. You need to fish early in the morning and late in the after noon. 1/2 hour before sunup and 1/2 hour before sundown. The low light periods are when they will move in to cruise the rocks for food !!!
