Just a quick report here about Newton yesterday eve. Got out there a little after 4. There was a decent breeze most of the time I was there. Met Ktrout, as he was already out there when I showed up. Very nice guy - again good to finally meet you, and glad you were able to land another muskie. All I managed were a couple dozen bass. Only a couple were 13 inches. The rest were less than a foot. Heading back out Saturday!

Thanks for helping me land it and take a picture. Great meeting you Ben, hope to fish with you in the future.
This if for yote, as I thought he had this happen to him. I caught a small bass right next to shore and as I was bringing it in, the musky decided to eat my bass. At some point the bass either got off or got swollowed, as the only thing left was my small jerk bait in its mouth.

Like you said when you landed it - it is a skinny one. I just hope the water doesn't get too warm and too low to sustain those guys in there.
And I gotta get back out there to retrieve my sunglasses. They aren't too expensive of shades, but I can't find them anywhere online. I might be taking a little swim Saturday morning [cool]. I dropped them in about 7 feet of water, but the wind was too much for me to see down.
And yeah, it would be good to fish again together sometime.

Nice job to both of you! I'm going to give it another try on Sunday but with a better tow vehicle this time so we can launch the boat? How are the crowds on weekends? I'd assume with the location and the condition of the ramp it can't be nearly as bad as pineview?

No real crowds at all. I am heading out Saturday am, and I am going to see what the west shore holds in store for launching. It's a lot flatter over there. I just haven't gotten out over there to see how hard the ground is. I will let you know. If it's possible over there, it will be much easier.

Sounds like a fun out. From what you were saying about how low it is - I'm a bit worried about getting on/off. But - nice thing about a small boat. Push the danged thing off the trailer long as I can get close enough!
And with it THAT low - the powersquad has GOTTA know it's "Angler's Time!!!"
Yup - had the perch attack with my first Musky landed. I'll bet he swallowed the bass, and was still looking for desert!
Good going! These beasts will sure get your blood pumping. Even just spotting them is a thrill.
Sat might work. I would like to chase some bass, perch (and more Crappie!).
So how big would a 4" channel be a year later? 6" - maybe 8"?

I am gonna get on the water early - probably leave my place around 6. I'd be happy to help launch your boat if you need. You should be just fine, though.
