We put in about 4:30 in the afternoon, we were planning to fish until dark. We graphed more and bigger schools of bait than I have ever seen. We found several suspected crappie schools in deep water but, with the breezy conditions were not able to stay on them. Finally found some easy ones in 8' and caught about ten quickly all whites. I got cocky and tried other areas we graphed several crappie schools but the bite was slower than we wanted. We ended up learning a great lesson at our last couple of stops. We used the mapping software instead of totally relying the sidescan to catch the biggest crappie of the day. We found humps on the end of long tapering points and cast Bobby Garlands to slabs in 5 to 13 feet of water. We probably caught 30 with 20 making the ride home. The water temp was about 47 degrees and Electric chicken and screamer were the two best. We tried screamer last and had much better success with it.
