Koke trough the ice at Strawberry
#1
Myself and my 2 buddies Jim Beam and Michelob Light went to church at Strawberry yesterday. I did some praying and looking for answers. Managed to catch a beautiful limit of fish for dinner. 3 bows and a nice koke. WOW. Fresh smoked salmon in the winter caught in Utah. All fish were caught using, ice rod, reel, 8lb line, a lead head jig, some plastic things, and bait. All fish were caught through a hole in the ice at Strawberry.

Nice Koke! I went up yesterday and caught a wayward one myself. Wish I could say I was targeting it, but I can't . Just caught it on a paddle bug fishing the normal trout locations and tactics. I caught mine in the meadows, which I thought was kind of weird..... the only time I have caught them ice fishing before was in the narrows.
Mine was a smaller than your catch, so I put him back down the hole. Here is a pic.

Ok he is the big secret to catch kokes at strawberry. There is none. Was at the ladders fishing for cutts and bows and saw a fish on the finder follow my jigs to the fish got a hit, set hook, had the fish on and reeled 3 or 4 cranks and it was gone..... Kept reeling to check biat and the fish was racing to the surface still on. pretty funny actually. 1 1/2 pearl tube with meat. a fluke for sure....

I actually like the taste of the bows better and so did my wife. I will let all the kokes go from now on. took me 20 years of ice fishing up there so I am sure I am hurting the population with the amount I catch through the ice. LOL....

Cheers....
