Gas Auger problems?
#1
Just wanted to share this,

I have a Strikmaster and have been having problems this season with it running good and idleing. I was fighting it at Otter Creek and Strawberry struggling to drill holes before it died and it would take for ever to pull start it to start it back up. I determind I had mixed my gas to rich and have gummed up my carb, also not using a good 2 stroke oil. I did some searching on the web and found some ways to fix it before taking it into the shop and have the carb torn apart and cleaned.

This isn't a adverstiment at all and I am not trying to sell anything but I thought it would be helpful to others if there having the same problem. I found alot of guys are using Amsoil Saber Synthetic 2 stroke oil at 80:1 they also make a gas/carb cleaner to add to it. I picked some up yesterday along with a new spark plug. I emptyed the gas I had in the auger tank and cleard the rest from the lines. I mixed the new gas/oil and added to the tank after a few pulls it fired up and I ran it for 10 mins letting the cleaner get into the system. I then changed my spark plug and restarted it.It fired right back up and hasnt skipped a beat and is idleing much much better. I think my problem is solved I started it several more times last night after letting it sit and it fired right up like it should. Oh almost forgot I used 91 octane gas, I was using the 87 before. Also very little smoke and oil slime coming out of my exhaust, like it was.

Anyone having problems like I did try what I did before taking it in.The oil and additive was $15.00 much cheaper than a service. Can't wait to try it this week!
