big lost river access?
#1
I'm going to go check out the big lost river for the first time tomorrow. I know there is a public access spot just below the mackay res. dam but I'm curious if any body can tell me if there are any other public access spots? Anything closer to Arco our below mackay?

Knock on a door.

The answer is NO. Tell you ask. The answer is just ask.

Tell them who you are.

I was kind of hoping not to knock on some doors tomorrow. Someday I'm fine with it. Other days I would sooner just hit public access. Looks like I'll just drive the river for awhile and see what I can find.

If, it was easy, we would not call it fishing..

There are several accesses, and if the flow is low enough to wade easily you can stay below the high water mark and get to most of the river below the dam.

Some are marked with brown signs. Some not.

Right below the dam is the first access.

Down about a half mile is a small campground and sportsmans access.

There is access anywhere there is a public road bridge. Smelter Ave, Huston Road, 4100 North, The other end of Huston Road Loop

There is a blm access at somewhere on the west side of the river, but to get to it you have to access from the hillside....dirt roads. I haven't looked at where it is at exactly.

im a bit late but if u jump in at any of the campgrounds and you can wade anywhere the river is very low and the fish are pooled up. MAcky specals, soft hackles and hoper/coper droppers are fishign well.

I fished a place about a mile or two south of town, many years ago. My friend was working for the guy and I got the go to fish it. There are some HUGE fish in that section. Access is the trouble.
