Ok if I leave at 3 am I got 16 hours to pull something off. Do I drive 7 hrs and only get 2 hrs of fishing. Or we could do the norm and drive a hour and fish all day for the same results. Avery is out of school tomorrow so I need to come up with something. Plans for 4 days of ice fishing cascade were ditched weeks ago. Columbia walleye, CDA pike, Pothole walleye, ID Steelhead, AR kokes, SR cats??? I'm leaning towards walleye on the Columbia. What would you do?

first off, I'm jealous.
Second, I would head over to the Columbia. A short four or five hour drive and you are fishing for Walleye.
But if you want something close, I went down to CJ Saturday and got a bunch of perch and a few bass. Action was steady, but the size is disappointing compared to Cascade. But caught a lot of them.
Good luck and have fun.

My dad is below Dworshak killing the steelhead right now. Guys in the boats below the hatchery are catching record numbers of fish, but the guys fishing right at the dam fishing from shore are doing great too.

If you are talking about potholes lake in WA. It has been really hot last few weeks for walleye. But is a long drive. 8 hrs.

Got brothers fishing porholes, moses, clearwater, columbia, cda, etc and it's all going off. CJ for us today and it didn't left us down. Bucket full of eaters with perfect roe for frying. I'm gonna hurt myself before this is over.

No it was an epic day for Dad. He knows it all and doesn't want to listen to his old man any more. Got 6 hours to burn today so we're heading down again me and the wife. The one crappie was just under 12" and fat. Should be a good year for them.
