FISHNROD, Chickamauga, Crappie, Bluegill, White Bass, Yellow Bass, Redear, 2/11/15, My Dad
#1
Hit the lake about 11am hoping to get into some good fishing, the sun was shining but it wasn't as warm as it looked. We were going after some crappie and so was just about everyone else. LOL. First stop was a place I wore out some white bass at the other day but only caught a few yellow bass. O by the way we were fishing some bobby garland jigs about 6 feet under a float. Color varied from electric chicken, yellow to yellow and black. Yellow finished up the day.
Let me tell you something funny. Well better laugh than to get mad. We were fishing out of my dads boat today so I was of my game a little. I was using his measuring tape he had stuck on his boat. A lot of crappie just fell short of 10 inches so back they went. I told him boy those sure look 10 inches to me, do you have another tape? He said yes and handed it to me. You see where im going? Yes his ruler on his boat was 1 inch off. emoBang LOL. so we thru away 5 or six that were keepers. He said you know I been using that ruler all last year and this year and one day he caught a bunch od 9 inchers and truth is he could of kept them. LOL.
Any ways we caught most fish on the drop off slope just before it hit max depth. Around 15 -14 ft of water but again on a float. We made them come up to the jigs. Dad managed to catch a few with no float but few and far between. All in all today we kept 10 crappies and 15 mixed bag of blue gill, white bass, yellow bass, and a red ear. Hope you all enjoyed the report!
