Ririe kokanee spwn
#1
Do the strain of Kokanee planted in Ririe spawn in the lake or the creeks? I understand some of them are better at spawning in a lake setting. A natural spawn would be best.

I'm not sure what Region Ririe is in but you have a member on the Idaho board that should be a good resource. Try sending a PM to Joe Kozfkay, if he can't answer your question, I'm sure he could give you the phone number of someone than can. He is the Nampa Regional fish manager for R3. Not sure of the prefix there but the last part of his phone number is 475-2764. Here is a link to his profile, so you can send him a PM if you want: http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin/com...R3_FishMgt

I have not gone very far up any tribs when they are trying to do there thing, but have seen plenty of them in the main reservoir splashing around. Have also seen a few of them deceased in the main reservoir, assuming post spawn.

Where there is a will, there is a way... at least to "try".[Wink]

They will turn red and try to do their thing but I don't believe they are very successful. That's why they stick 6 figures every year

I would estimate less that 2% return on spawning fish as compared to planting numbers. Negligible numbers.
