GPS Tracking

Who uses one of these devices? While we have cell phones servicing to some remote areas is always a concern where there is no service in other areas. GPS tracking devices work off of satellite whereas cell phone rely on towers. As a loner going fishing where cell phone service is iffy sometimes these devices can keep wife or a friend or both of your where abouts. Remote hiking and camping is another means. I'm considering the purchase of one since I'm not always with someone on one of my adventures.

I have a fishing buddy who often camps alone. He uses one of these devices to send his GPS coordinates to his wife every day, so in case of emergency she knows where he is.
