Nice afternoon so decided to ride out to LB to check on the progress of the carp spawn. Short of it: they ain't.

The lake was dead calm and the air temp was 68 degrees. I checked on both sides of the launch channel and never saw so much as a ripple from spawning carp. Drove on around to Goose Point in Goshen Bay -- no carp activity. I really thought they would be fired up but not so. Maybe it has just been too cold to warm the water enough to trigger the love. Saturday?? With warm weather promised for the next week or so they have got to become active soon.

Pisco is going out after cats tomorrow afternoon so maybe he can get a report on the carp activity as well.

Talked to a couple of catters fishing near Goose Point. Nothing. Good guys and discovered we had a common ancestor thru marriage so enjoyed talking to them. Managed to get my first skeeter bite of the year while there -- zika carrier for sure.

Anyhow, nothing good to report on the carp spawn... yet.

It can't be long now! I'm heading out Saturday and if I don't see any will be back the following Saturday.
Thanks for the update, looking forward to seeing you put up a 36 incher!

We were there along the south shore from 4 P.M. until dark. Carp were not in the brush thrashing, but a few jumpers here and there. We got 2 big ones on rod and reel trying for cats, but saw no hard core spawning.

Water was 70 degrees, they will ripen fast now.
