Strawberry Fire, Fishing, and Friends
#1
I fished Strawberry yesterday, July 5, with a fishing friend, and we too saw, and were concerned about the damaging fire and smoke in the area just East of us...As we approached the Marina in the dark we saw the fire just over the ridge tops, and it looked like a false sun rise...and yes, the Marina also was dark, no power anywhere...the main restroom was open before we launched, but locked up when we came off at 0900....Friend and I had our "best" A.M. fishing results here to date; great 2 man Koke limit, my smallest 17" and largest here, 19 3/4", 3lb....we were lucky....and done fishing by 0830........I've been lucky enough to fish with Robert (LikeTrolling) a couple times, and have run into him several times here at the launch site, as I did today (Thurs)...he gladly shares good info, and sometimes I can even share something I know with him... but usually the other way around....I consider him a friend....BovineOwner? I don't know him, except from earlier posts, and I like him for his conservation-minded comments, and for the great business he is in and inviting any to his ranch...this way, I consider him a friend also...I would hate to see him, or Robert, or anyone else (well, almost anyone else[cool]...just kidding!) leave this site, because I think we all have something good to share, hopefully mostly concerning FISHING.....Guluk...and let's hope things will turn around soon on this fire, and all others going on causing havoc in people's lives.....
