I will be fishing Willard tomorrow with a buddy of mine. I will have the radio on if anyone else is going out. I will be in my 16' Fisher Bass Boat if you see me. There is room for 1 more on my boat if anyone wants to fish.

I watched a few fellas catch some nice eyes on the west side last Saturday evening. I think the shore fishers are doing better so far this year for the eyes. They were using chartreuse curly tails w/ pink or orange heads. Those rocks ate damn near all my gear last week, I am gonna stick to trolling for a while.

True, last week I was reading 49 degrees on the west side in a few places. Too bad Willard gets so much boat and PWC traffic during the summer when the fishing is good. I would rather be out there fishing in the colder temp. water, than water skiers buzzing over my lines.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if the walleye fishing was better from shore then a boat right now. I'm not sure what the water level is like right now, but in past years when the water was well up into the rocks this time of year, we would catch a bunch of walleye from shore. Cast a floating Rapala parallel to the rocky shore and bang its nose down into the rocks a little bit as you retrieve it. You may loose a few lures to the rocks, but you should catch fish.

I would like to take my son and nephew out and try and catch some walleye. Can anyone point me to a shoreline area where we might try (including how to get there) and what lures/baits we should take up? Any help will be much apreciated.
