Willard was hot today! 7-10-05

Fished Willard, on the water at 7:30, nice cool, cloudy and breezy. Perfect walleye conditions and they responded. I boated my limit nothing over 17" plus a bonus wiper and catfish. I watched another boat (Smith and Edwards Team Walleye) catch loads of walleye. He thought he hooked more than 30 and I belive him, he had on 2 at a time numerous times. He said he just won $30k at a walleye tourney and his luck must still be with him. He was smokin' em.

I caught everything on the North side on silver spinner/worm and bottom bouncers trolling at 0.0 on my Lowrance and .0-.3 on my gps. The same thing the tourney fisherman was using but I didn't come anywhere close to the numbers he did. Must be the touch or the way he held his . I did notice he wasn't wearing his hat, suppose that had something to do with it?

Thanks for the post Fishwriter, sounds like you had a good day on the water. Going that slow, can I assume you were using an electric trolling motor? WH2

I did until my battery gave up. I forgot to charge it last night. Then I used my main motor on my little fishing boat and against the wind it just barely kept my spinner spinning and that was what it took. I'll be back again tomorrow night for round 2.
