Try going into Google, and request make, model, etc.

You should be able to find several sites selling this rod.

I have fr1085 -GL2, GL3,GL4 and a GLX find out which model it is and I can tell you the action and if it will fit your needs. fr stands for" fly rod", 108 is the inches 5 is the weight. GL? is the type of graphite and the action the rod has.

Thanks for the reply the rod is a GL2 right now the
bid is low. it says it has been used twice. How much
would you bid if you were me with an older 7-8 wt
fenwick.

Thanks

The GL2 was their starting rod with a little softer action excellent for laying out dry flys, could
use a little more back bone for nymphing but it will nymph fine for you. They used to sell for $165.00
to $180.00 brand new. as for what to offer that is up to you,
it is a lot better quality rod than most on the market today.

Maybe you could tell me what type of action my rod has. It is a IMX, I've had it for about 15 years. I know it is a little softer than a Sage of the same era.

IMX was discontinued just before I started selling them. I believe it is considered
moderate fast action it was replaced with the GL3. I can tell you that it has a very
sensitive tip and you will need to be careful not to bend it too much when pulling line out.
Tip breakage was its achilles heal. No it's not a 2x4, but it is excellent for nymphing.

I mostly use the Loomis IMX for stillwater, and larger rivers like the Green. If my Loomis breaks would it still be covered? I have a 9 ft. 4wht. rod built by Marty Howard, I think it is a Fisher blank, and it works good for nymphing around here. Do you know anything about Fisher? It is about time for me to get another rod, maybe a Sage or Winston or Orvis, I don't know yet. Maybe I'll just wait till one of them breaks. Prices have gone crazy.

I would not worry about breaking it,tip breakage is almost always a cause of misuse.
I don't suspect you misuse your rods if you are still fishing the IMX.
Sorry I have casted a fisher a couple times but I could not critique it.
Any excuse to buy a new rod is a good excuse to me![Wink]
