Tree Fishing Big Cottonwood Canyon Creek
#1
I don't know but this is a first for me...I was fishing at Big Cottonwood Creek today. It looked like it was going to be a promising day as I got a couple strikes right off the bat. But then that was it, nothing at all for two hours. The wind started to pick up and blow my line into the trees, spent most of the day clearing tangles. Now it started to look like a terrible day. The dog gone wind was unforgiving. One time it blew my line over a branch and the fly was still on the water, a nice little brookie took it. So the fish was caught by the tree! Holy cow! So I untangled that fish and let him go and started walking down stream and heading for my truck. Had my line and fly drifting about 20 ft in front of me as I was heading down stream and managed to catch 4 more before I got back to my truck. Before I made it back I stumbled across a big fish! She is a monster. Don't know what she is but I know where she lives.

Oh, I was using a #14 Royal Humphy and a #20 WD 40
They didn't even move when I threw at Tan Caddis...or a sparkle...3 of the fish took the Humphy...

I have only fished it once, it was pretty good. Nice bows. But I've only seen a couple areas that looked pretty good for fishing. Where do you go there?

I haven't been up there for a long time so I can't give you an exact spot but if you do some searching you'll find some good spots.
