I went fishing twice today fom the bank with threadfin and did quite well, best 5 for the day probably going 17 pounds, with the biggest being a 4 lb smallie and two largemouth that were also a little over 4. I have moved down the river about 150 yard from my spot last year (which was about 30 yards below the RR bridge) and it's paid off not with more fish but with bigger average size. 3 pounders are the norm right there, and I caught around 20 fish total with 15 on the shad and the rest coming on my c-rigged worm. Also a guy caught a good sized turtle and this lady on the bank (not vietnamese or thailandian either) said "I'll take it! Don't know how I'm gonna kill it but I'll take it!" Can you keep turtles to eat? I was going to call TWRA but she left with it as I was leaving, they need to go down there anyway, they'd need a fresh pad of citations in hand before they go down there though cause they'll use every one. I got a fella to take my picture with the smallie but...he missed.
