THE FINAL COUNTDOWN TO THE BIG TRIP!!!
#1
School work is piling up, work has been intense, and girls are driving me a tad bit crazy ... time for a week of fly fishing!!! I can't believe how quickly it is approaching, but judging by my current stress level it is about due.[Wink]
First, I want to say thank you to all of you have been so kind in helping me to plan this trip. My best friend from Pennsylvania flies out October 4th. He is as excited as I am! October 5th through the 10th will be go time for us. The main waters we will be fishing are the Provo, the Green, Strawberry River, Strawberry Reservoir, and the Weber. We will also hit some other waters along the way, but those are the bread and butter places.
If anyone has any current updates on any of these waters and maybe some direction to give about specific places we might hit along the way, I would greatly appreciate it. I am greatest need to know of the best place to access the Weber, as I have never fished it before.
Any info up until the time of the trip would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks so much for all of your help. I will defnitely be posting pictures from the trip on the forum, so let's hope they are ones to brag about!!! Thanks!

Can't say this is the best advice in the world since I just got back to fly fishing after an 8 year hiatus but since nobody else has responded yet, here's some info for the Weber:

There's pretty good access between Wanship and Coalville with several private land owners providing access with stairs over the fences. I take I-80 east from Salt Lake past Park City, exit at Wanship, turn left, then the road turns right past and left again toward Coalville. There are a few access points along the straight away, and a turnoff to the left onto a dirt road right before the road goes up and over I-80. Not sure about now, but a couple of weeks ago there were millions of hoppers in the grass surrounding the river.

If you are planning on spending the night when you go to the green, consider the Red Canyon Lodge which is about 15 minutes east of the dam. Their private lake will wear you out from catching fish--they're all pretty nice (some are very big), aggressive and strong.

Have a great time!
