Another late report. Internet not great at home so Im trying to get caught up here at work so sorry for the delay. I was actually off las Saturday so even with the rainy forcast, after catching them like we did Friday I planned on going again. Good move. I got to CFP at 7:45 and there were 3 or 4 boats out and about. I stayed in the park and fished the same shallow pattern till about 9:30 and caught some good ones and to my surprise it really didnt rain that much. I went out to the main lake and fished some protected areas ouot of the wind and current with the trap and square bill, spinnerbait and jig. jEnded up catching some quality bass that morning and Jason shot me a text at about 11:30 that he was on Hamil rd so I ran back into the park to pick him up. Unfortunately the bite was best early but he got some action as well. Cought lots of quality fish and even the little ones were FAT! Didnt take a camera or anything because of the threat of lots of rain and didnt carry scales but early Im pretty sure I had a good limit about 17 to 18 lbs by myself. Best fish hit the spinnerbait slow rolled on the bottom near hard cover. The grass didnt seem to be a factor but more rocks and stumps. The bite died off again at about 4 and it was starting to rain pretty good at this point so we loaded up and left. Jason got to catch a good one on his new rod so I was thankful for that. The fish was in brush in about 10 fow and looked to be around 3.5 to 4ish. Very stalky fish too I thought as it was fighting it would be bigger but just had a mean attitude. Overall a great weekend of catching and the ratio was probably 4 to 1 keepers to non-keeepers. I'll take that on any "winter" day!!!!! Temps were still hitting 50 and some spots had really pale "fresh" fish coming up so I think my areas will only get better. PS we thought the islands would be on fire if the shallow bite was happening, bottom line we burned up an hour and caught ONE short in there emoBang
